Give a ‘Colleague Compliment’ because it’s good for your mental health!
Who are the unsung heroes in your office? When was the last time you gave a colleague a compliment simply to make them smile and boost their mental wellbeing?
This is something Composite Profiles have been doing for a number of years as part of their annual Health & Wellbeing week that takes place every winter to help combat the onset of winter blues – a slang term for a now medically recognised condition known as SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), which affects as much as 30% of the UK population. It’s a serious matter, but small gestures of kindness can trigger those happy hormones and make someone’s day a brighter one. So much so that Composite Profiles believe that the ‘Give a Colleague Compliment’ initiative warrants an entry into every HR department’s Team Building Annual Planner – indicative why Composite Profiles are one of only 1% of UK companies (in the IIP scheme) to be awarded the Platinum Award, the highest accolade by Investors in People.
