Other Products & Services

Composite Profiles also provide specialist services to enhance installations and to deliver a high level of safety controls and equipment on site.

Shear Connectors

Shear studs can be used to enhance the design of the structural steelwork.  The ‘thru-deck’ stud welding process involves welding shear studs through the decking and onto the top flanges of the beam.

At Composite Profiles, our expertise extends to the stud welding process and we are able to offer this service to complete our package to our clients.

Edge Shuttering

Edge shutter trimComposite Profiles have successfully carried out a number of edge shutter only contracts, primarily to projects involving pre-cast concrete slabs.

Edge shuttering is bespoke made for each contract.  Shutter gauges from 0.9mm to 3.0mm can be provided depending on the slab depth and client requests.  Each installation team are able to install up to 100m of edge shutter in a day, offering a fast and effective solution for pre-cast concrete slab projects.

Hilti HVB Connectors

Hilti HVB Connectors provide an alternative method of shear restraint for beams, often where shear studs are not possible.

The HVB Connectors are shot-fired into position rather than welded, hence they can be used on painted or galvanised beams, or where the welding fire risk is unacceptable.

HVB Connectors vary in height from 50mm to 140mm.  Further details can be found at www.hilti.co.uk.

Safety Netting

Safety netting offers a passive and collective fall arrest system and is the method of choice for the vast majority of our projects.

A full and comprehensive fall arrest safety netting service is available from Composite Profiles.  All safety net riggers are fully trained and operate to the FASET guidelines.

The safety nets are inspected prior to each use.  Annual UV tests are also carried out to maintained suitability of the safety nets, with all results formally recorded.

Safety Net Repairs

Safety net repairComposite Profiles recognises that normal site conditions can sometimes lead to minor damage to safety netting and has undertaken training and development to reduce costs and time delays of damaged netting.

As a result, most repairs can now be carried out in-house and usually on site.  This continued commitment to safety and programme results in reduced down-time for damaged safety netting.

Portable Appliance Testing

Continuous training and improvement has led to Composite Profiles internalising the provision of Portable Appliance Testing of electrical equipment.

Composite Profiles has fully trained in-house Portable Appliance testers, together with state-of-the-art equipment to enable fast and efficient testing of all office equipment, together with site tools.

We are now able to offer Portable Appliance Testing externally and welcome enquiries for this specialist service.
