Harris Boys Academy, East Dulwich

This project created a new Academy School for 950 students in East Dulwich, London and Composite Profiles were delighted to be chosen to supply and install the structural roof decking.

Harris Boys Academy features 2,400m2 of structural roof decking by Tata Steel – including the D100, D159 and D159 Perforated systems.  Further details of these can be found at http://www.tatasteelconstruction.com.

Project Manager, Joel Nurser explained the necessity for careful co-ordination between the Engineers and Galliford Try Construction to ensure design details could be practically adopted on site, adding ‘this level of technical detailing is where Composite Profiles thrive.’

An exciting challenge to overcome was the height to the underside of some areas above the atriums.  Joel Nurser explained, ‘we used our extensive knowledge and resources to work with our plant suppliers and safety net team to enable us to work in the most awkward areas.’

Once the safety netting is erected, the installation of the structural roof decking was initiated and completed on budget and within programme.
